I forgot how much I hate thinking of blog titles

Well I'm going to give blogging another go! Mostly as a distraction from my dissertation to be honest! I can't believe the last time I blogged I was just starting uni and now I'm finishing. It's been tough but I'm so proud of myself for being a mature student and doing well.

Anyway, onto the good stuff. I'm still in charity shops as much as I can be, although they're a lot more spread out in London so there's not as much opportunity now with my chronic lack of time (and money!).

But recently I went into a Traid charity shop in Brixton and got a gorgeous dress and cape - which has a hood! The Traid shops aren't as cheap as I'd like but still, I couldn't pass those up.

Some more things that are pleasing me:

My amazing/wanky new phone case

My fantastic Christmas present from my boyfriend; a 'reading year' which delivers a book a month starting in Feb, and came the other day. Such beautiful wrapping!

My drunk posey face

It's nice to be back!

London living

What a lovely weekend. We went for a wander around the posh shops and houses near Sloane Square yesterday, had a yummy brunch and then after a look round Harrods, wine on the rooftop terrace there. Not something we can make a habit of but great for a treat! Then back for tequila and to watch As Good As It Gets - which is a brilliant film that I'd never seen before. Still not sure where I stand on Jack Nicholson - would I??

Then a lazy Sunday, full English, a walk to the shops and later on we're having steak for dinner. Yum!

Oh yes, and on Friday I went to an animal-themed fancy dress party as a rabbit. A very basic costume with a white dress, old ears and a gorgeous vintage white fluffy capelet from a charity shop - only £2 down from £15!

A random guy asked to take a picture of me as I was walking home - in a drunken, oh yes I'm dressed as a giant rabbit way I obliged!

Some recent wears...

With my slightly odd hair! The leopard print skirt again with a vest that came with a shirt from Debenhams.

And the day I dyed my hair to cover up the greys before I went to uni (a girl there actually said to me "it's like so inspirational that older people like you are going back to uni, you should be proud". Yeah thanks grasshopper, I'm only 26!!).

Wearing an old H&M dress and old Primark heels.

Well, here we go with another week....

Dress please

Hi! It's me. It's been a while hey? Since the last time I posted I've been getting used to London living, travelling in Thailand and Cambodia for a month, starting uni and fruitlessly searching for a job.

Travelling was amazing. I was with my boyfriend for a week, on my own for a week then with my sisters for two weeks. I'll have to do a seperate post with some pictures soon because if I start describing it this will be waaaaaay too long for a return post!

I'm also going to resist the temptation to post all the outfit pictures I've taken in the last two/three months at once - I have been keeping up with that at least, although probably more out of vanity that I look nice and want to record it than anything else!

Uni has been hard and intense and I'm only on week three (I'm doing Psychology for those interested). In fact I'm doing this post instead of my required reading so I'm really getting into the swing of things! I haven't gone full-blown vintage at uni yet but I can see that I dress differently to the other students - I wonder if it's because they're younger, or maybe as I've noticed London dressing seems to be cool and chic rather than a bit crazy like Brighton.

Anyway, I'm going to try and do a few smaller posts more often with some good wears of mine.

I'm going to start with the least recent. It's funny looking back at my hair now, you'll notice soon that I've dyed it and it looks odd from before - brown fringe and gingery hair!

First up, me wearing a gorgeous leopard print skirt that I bought from Red Bows Vintage, a bunny tshirt from Camden market and a man's leather jacket from a charity shop (mostly for my boyfriend but for me too, although I'm desperate for my own!).

Next up (and this makes me realise these are from when it was "sunny": a very casual outfit I wore on my way to go for a swim. An H&M cardi and a Red Herring dress from a charity shop.

Now for the more glam pictures. A red maxi dress from Forever 21, sadly now with so many holes I can't wear it anywhere except the shops and at home, and an absolutely gorgeous kimono jacket thingy from TKMaxx.

And lastly a dress that I've only started to wear recently although I've had it for a while. It's from Dorothy Perkins.

That's it for now, I've been really restrained but that just means lots more to come!

It's nice to be back :)

Howdy strangers

Well it's been nearly a month since my last post - how ARE you? I'm ok, thanks for asking. Skint, unemployed, attached to my (gorgeous new) laptop to finish my difficult final projects for college but ok! I haven't really explored London much yet what with unpacking, going to Devon for a long weekend and the afore-mentioned being skint, but I like it so far! Our flat is great, we even have friendly neighbours, well done us.

Here is a picture that I took on my first attempt at going to the job centre (don't ask) when I remembered that I do in fact have a blog, and a picture of the dress that I showed you a sneak peek of last time. More London fabulousness to follow when I start to get a life.

The gorgeous Henry Holland basket dress. We all wore tweed for most of the duration of our stay, and got completely taken the piss out of when we went to a local pub. Ah well.

My leaving drinks (they aren't all mine, promise. Although I did end up consuming at least that number) with me wearing my old reliable ASOS dress.

I loved this outfit. Henry Holland doggie skirt, H&M top and vintage jacket.

So there we are. Hopefully more updates on the life of an unemployed girl in a new town with hundreds of dresses and nowhere to wear them to come soon. Bet you can't wait!

Just for the fun of it

So...we found a flat! Hurrah! If all goes well with references and deposits we will be living in Tooting this time in two weeks. I will actually live in the Big Smoke. Scary.

Till then...I've got five days till I'm unemployed, and I'm still ebay shopping. Hello ebay addiction my old friend:

Cannot wait to wear this this weekend! A few of us are off to Devon to stay in a lovely little cottage and have lots of fun. There's also some clay pigeon shooting going on but I'm part of the Royal Society for the Protection of Clay Pigeons so I'm not joining in.

Yesterday I wore my oft-complimented Dotty P dress to work and then straight out for a work conference meal - where I got champagne as a thanks for organising the conference! So that was nice.

And lastly a picture from our favourite sushi place that I'm really going to miss and we will have to visit Brighton a lot just to go to*.

*because they don't have sushi places in London

Bitsa this, bitsa that...

Ooh it's been a while! Sorry, what with choosing a uni (done!), finding a flat in London (I wish) and watching Grey's Anatomy like I wish I could jump through the screen I haven't had time for much else.

But here are some random, I-went-somewhere-not-very-exciting-but-still-wanted-to-look-nice outfit pictures.

Henry Holland dress and H&M cardigan.

H&M dress, Primark belt, Evans scarf and charity shop jacket (that I share with my boyfriend). I loved this outfit!

Dorothy Perkins dress.

And now for some here and there odd photos. Because why not?

See ya!

Lady V

Recently I saw a post by Gemma at Big Girls Browse which included SUCH a beautiful dress, I think I actually gasped. When I clicked on the link for it I found out it was only £30, and looked really well made. It was from Lady Vintage London. The lovely Kathryn has posted about quite a few dresses from there recently as well, she loves them too! So....I bought it straight away. Luckily this was just before ALL my money ran out. It's a nice reminder that sometimes I do have paydays, before all the money goes...boohoo.

Anyway, I've worn it a couple of times but am only just getting round to putting the pictures up.

What do you think?

Here's the website picture as well.
It's really well fitting, just a little bit loose on the boobs (which is a first!) and has an underskirt as well which I really like.

Lovely! I might wear it again this weekend...hope you all have good ones.
